British Lipljan Digital Technology Ltd has a surprising take on what is a good-looking PMP. Their answer is a design taken from the Nokia Communicator line of business phones. The YDPG69 is a folder media player with a 3-inch screen with QVGA resolution, Windows CE 5.0 operating system and playback support for Divx, XviD, AVI, ASF, MPEG4, WMV7/8/9 video files. It’s also an MP3 player, photo viewer, e-Book reader and portable gamer. The point of the design is to make it a more stable platform for a personal media center you can take anywhere. The YDPG69 differs from most Chinese PMPs in that it supports a more legitimate lineup of gaming platforms, e.g. FLASH, 3D games, WINCE games and JAVA games. It will also have WiFi and Bluetooth. Unfortunately, the YDPG69 is in the concept stage and will not come out until it has undergone a comprehensive testing of its features, UI and etc. We’ll expect it to be cheap and a true convergence device like many other Windows CE devices from China like this one.
