It’s official. The new Asus Eee PC will have 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal flash memory and will be available some time tis month for $499. It’s powered by the same 900MHz Intel Celeron and use the same Linux interface. It will not sport the rumored 10-inch screen. Battery life is estimated at 3.5 hours. It’s up to you if you feel that an additional 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage space is worth $100.
