Found on eBay, the unnamed Sony gaming PMP may be the first cloning of a major japanese manufacturer of a Chinese device. We’ve seen this sliding gamer design before and we’ve seen it cloned at least once. We’re not in the position to officially denounce Sony for blatant infringement of another’s intellectual property, but neither are we in the position to assume this is a fake Sony and the Japanese manufacturer has, in fact, nothing to do with this.
Specs:
# Plays NES Roms
# Plays and Records Video
# AV-Out
# Built-in Camera
# 1Gb Capacity plus SD expansion
# FM Tuner/Recorder
# UMS device

[...] Filed under: Gaming, Portable Audio, Portable Video We’ve seen, shall we say, creative uses of well-known brands to sell cheapo gear in the past, but it’s not often we see a case as brazen as the one above, which cavalierly throws Sony’s familiar logo onto a generic Chinese PMP in an attempt, presumably, to give it a bit more cred. Of course, there is the little matter that the PMP boasts of its ability to play NES games, and the fact that it uses SD cards instead of Sony’s beloved Memory Sticks — which are certainly welcome features, but not exactly ones high on Sony’s list. If for some reason you want to take a chance on the player, however, you can currently find one on eBay at the link below, with the bidding hovering around the $25 mark (as of this writing). [...] It’s pretty darned nice to be honest, not that we didn’t think Sony is capable of stylish designs in gadgets. Kidding aside, the Mylo 2 has been in the rumor mill for an entire 24 hours and much of the [...]
