Phone, Today's Find

Sure the resulting handset is clunkier than Zune original, heck it’s clunkier than this multi-featured PMP, but you haven’t seen anything like it either. Bug Labs is now offering the basic BUGbase, which is a “hackable” Linux computer with 128MB of RAM. Besides that, you get WiFi, a USB an LCD screen with buttons, an Ethernet and even a tripod (?). Other modules that are already available are the digital camera/video cam, touch screen, motion sensor and GPS modules. A bigger touch screen, mini-QWERTY, audio speaker and A/V output modules and something called a “teleporter module” will be avilable early 2008.

I’ve checked out the web site for the pricing but, unfortunately, Bug Labs “isn’t quite ready” yet to receive orders.
