A new Korean company called UPOP that just launched their very first gadget. It’s supposed to be a PMP but with specs like these, it looks to me like this thing is more like an ultra-mobile PC. Which, mind you, is not a bad thing at all. It comes with either 30GB or 60GB memory capcity, plus SD expansion, and operates on Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 Professional. On its 4.8″ TFT screen you can view AVI (divx, etc..), WMV, MPG, DAT, and VOB video files, and it also supports MP3, WMA, MP4, ACC, AC3, Ogg, and WAV. Besides that, it comes equipped with WiFi and a DMB tuner, audio and video recording, a dictionary, and office applications like PowerPoint and Excel. It’s also really convenient to carry around since this PMP’s dimensions are 84 x 157.7 x 24.4mm. The catch? Like a lot of Korean-made gadgets, this one’s only available in, well, Korea. Unless you can find a way to export this somehow. I wouldn’t mind having one of these babies around; it looks to me like a great alternative to a notebook or a laptop.
