MP4 Nation has quite a treat for cheapskates this Christmas. Nope, they are not selling cheap iPod Touch from Apple, though they have the Meizu M6 SL available for $110.50 (4GB) and the HACHA PA20 $159.50 (4GB plus 2GB SD card).
If you’re intent on getting an iPod Touch clone, however, you can do no wrong with the Optimus Touch. Up close it’s the chunky little sister of the iPod Touch. The 2.4-inch QVGA screen is a far cry from the iPod Touch screen but The Optimus Touch can be navigated using your fingers or the stylus inserted at the bottom of the device. The stylus is made especially for the Optimus Touch, unlike this one for the iPod Touch, so you’d get a more responsive GUI.

Was that “Japan” I saw on the label on the back of the device. Anyway, like all Chinese devices I’ve seen on-line or played with thus far, the user interface is just superficially like IPods or, in this case, the iTouch. Watch this to realize just how superficially:

This Chinese PMP isn’t even in the same ballpark. And, Oooooo, this semi-clone of an iTouch finally implements playlists. Wow, what a concept.
