Patent applications from SE has just been leaked showing us a touchscreen device with an accelerometer for upright and landscape viewing. There’s a phone mode, browser mode, and MP3 mode and the device goes to gaming mode automatically when held horizontally (landscape view). The buttons are all virtual and have a different setup depending on what mode it is in. The horizontal mode displays gaming buttons. The built-in Haptics should ensure that gaming experience is not that much different than on tactile buttons. Curiously, the virtual buttons on “phone mode” [image after the break) is very similar to the tactile buttons on many Sony Ericsson phones now.
