It’s about time Microsoft realized that the v2 Firmware has been giving Zune 30 users some serious battery issues! They (Microsoft, not the Zune users) just came out with a new firmware designed to improve the Zune 30 codecs, which will then make the Zune more power-efficient. However, Zune Insider reports that there have been new battery issues spawned by the latest upgrade. The battery starts acting up when users suspend the Zune’s hard drive by holding down the play/pause button. Apparently, that causes the battery to drain out really fast. It’s not likely that the latest Zune Firmware will add anything new features but I’m sure the only thing Zune 30 users care about is that they never see the exclaimation point of death again.
