Samsung F300 Clone Uses iPod Click Wheel on One Face
26 12 2007China makes no bones about cloning just about every good hardware design in the market and the sleek dual-face design of the Samsung F300 and F500 multimedia phones has had to wait a little too long, we think a little undeservedly, for the ultimate flattery. Finally here comes the Shuang Mian Yi Ren V8, a genuine copy of the Samsung dual-face design but something that is a clone and also an innovation in its own right. The idea is for one side to be a phone and the other as a media center. The side with the bigger screen uses the iPod’s click wheel, which to my mind is better-looking than the original Samsung design. Too bad the makers of this clone didn’t bother giving it a unique name (notice the letters “The Ultra Music” above the bigger screen and notice the use of the unnecessary article). The V8 is a dual-band GSM phone with a 2.0 megapixel camera and microSD card slot. The bigger screen is 2.4 inches while the smaller one is 1.4 inches. Price is only $131.
