Talking E-Book Reader to be released in 2008
27 12 2007
I seriously fear for the human race. An Iranian inventor named Ramin Sedighi invented an e-book reader that can read out highlighted texts on an e-book. The device comes with a stylus which you use to highlight the word; the e-book reader then pronounces the word and defines it out loud. It also has a USB port, 512MB memory, and an SD slot. And apparently it can also “explain pictures”, whatever that means. Does it have an image-recognition system? Does it come with pre-recorded academic interpreations of images?
The talking e-book reader is designed for children ages 4-16 for educational purposes and I hope to god this device costs way more than it should. Way to dumb down the human race! Maybe I’m a little bit old-fashioned because I believe in buying actual books and doing actual reading - but seriously. Do we really want the next generation of kids to grow up to be a bunch of lazy idiots who have to have their books read out loud to them by a robot? How lazy have we all become?
