Philips has never been a significant player in the PMP market, but they’re giving consumers another option with their new SA6185. What I like about this PMP is how small it is at 196mm x 30mm x 214mm and weighs .153 kg but otherwise, it’s got pretty standard features: 3.5″ LCD-display with 320 x 240 resolution, 5-hour battery life (for videos) , built-in speakers, and support forMP3, WMA, and WMV files. Available in 8gb, 4gb or 2gb. Not bad if you want something that does what a PMP is supposed to do, minus all the bells and whistles.

This could have been a very competitive player in the marketplace. Too bad its only up to 8GB. If it at least had an expandable SD slot, then we’d have something to talk about.

Can someone please give accurate measurements on this player. I understand Philips website lists these same dimensions, but unless you have no understanding of the metric system you’d realized that this thing is apparently a brick. You seem to be telling me it’s larger than 8 inches by 7 inches by 1 inch. I’d like to know the real dimensions. Please don’t just copy information off Philips website and try to pass it off as a review, you can’t really review something if you’ve never seen it.
