The AOC X300 is a subtle beauty. It’s no slim club member but it’s got a nice clean design and a remarkable innovation on what seems like a joystick button. That silvery thingy on the left of the external speakers is a bit of a mystery. The screen is a minimalist 2.4-inch TFT LCD with QVGA resolution. Video support is at par with the most recent Chinese PMPs/MP4s we’ve seen: RM / RMVB, ASF, AVI, MP4, FLV. It comes out of the box complete with CD-ROM, warranty card adaptor, USB cable, earbuds and a transparent lanyard for the pouch.
The 4GB player will only set you back $55. Not that bad, especially if you’re curious about how the silver joystick works out in real life use.
