At CES a couple of important companies have announced their first mobile internet device. The MIDs will be making it big this year, or we think, although we are still not sure what the difference is between a MID and a UMPC. Any body can exlain this for us?
Aigo is jumping into the Mobile Internet Device business alogside another newcomer - Lenovo. There isn’t much info about Aigo and Lenovo’s MID but we do have videos for you of the two devices. Both are touch screen devices that connect to the Internet via WiFi. Aigo’s MID has a more conventional slide out QWERTY keyboard while Lenovo makes do with numeric keys tucked in on the right side of the screen. I must say, Lenovo has a very interesting device with multi-touch support.

UMPC is Microsoft’s marketing term and MID is Intel’s marketing term. Also MIDs seem to tend to be smaller than UMPCs.
