Everex Cloudbook UMPC spotted at CES 2008
9 01 2008
Looks like we have a deadly rival for the Asus EEE. The Everex Cloudbook is a 7-inch UMPC that’s powered by Google Apps-oriented Linux. And instead of the EEE’s measly 4GB SSD, the Standard edition Cloudbook comes with a 30GB hard disk drive, 512 RAM, built-in wired and wireless Ethernet interfaces, a 4-in-1 card reader, a pair of USB 2.0 ports, DVI-I, and 1.3MP Webcam. Its Developer edition, on the other hand, has a touchscreen interface. Watch out for the Cloudbook at the WalMart store nearest you on January 25 for $399. Not sure if that’s the price for the Standard or the Developer edition but checking out the Standard’s specs alone makes me want a Cloudbook over the EEE.
