Clarion introduced its MiND (Mobile Internet Navigation Device) at CES, and it’s looking pretty good. The model has a 5.2-inch WVGA touchscreen LCD, an Intel Menlow platform (Silverthorne processor combined with Poulsbo Chipset), 256MB of DRAM and 4GB of flash memory. It comes with WiFi, Bluetooth (allowing handsfree use when paired with a phone), GPS, and a microphone, speaker and CMOS camera (resolution unspecified).
If that isn’t enough for you, Clarion plans to add a 3G data module and WiMAX capability in the future. The MiND has a Linux OS that includes a media player, and viewers for flash-based videos, images, PDFs, Office documents. IM and RSS functionality are likewise included. The device will also allows docking in a car for more traditional navigation use.
