eMotion Solar-Powered PMP Spotted at CES
12 01 2008The eMotion EM-SOL1GIG may not be the prettiest thing at CES 2008, but it’s probably going to outlast whatever gadgets you bring with you when you’re traveling far from civilization. It’s chunkier than most PMPs today–one inch thick, five inches wide, and weighs 10 ounces. But the reason why it’s so bulky is that it’s got a pair of solar panels inside that can charge its lithium-ion battery. You can even use it to charge your cell phone, laptop, and other portable devices!
Specs-wise, the eMotion can support MP3, WMA, WAV, AVI, MPEG-4 file format. It also has a text file reader, a photo viewer, even a game emulator that lets you play your favorite old school NES, Gameboy, and Sega games. Finally, if you ever get lost in the jungle or trapped in a dark place, its built-in LED flashlight can help you find your way out.
The eMotion PMP is available at 1GB ($149) and 4GB ($185), but it also comes with an SD card slot that allows you to expand the memory by 2GB more. Just don’t bring it with you to a place where it rains a lot. Or where the sun doesn’t shine for months.
