In a good counterpoint to Shenzhen YZX’s PV-T241, the M800 from Shenzhen Mainbert Technology is pretty average in the looks department, but that doesn’t hold true for its capability. It supports AVI, MPG, ASF, WMV, DAT, VOB, MPEG-1,MPEG-2, DivX3.1/4.xx/5.xx, XviD, MPEG-4 SP/ASP, WMV9 and H.264 videos (with SMI captions and 30fps at a maximum resolution of 720×480 pixels), MP3, AC3, WMA, WAV, OGG, BSAC and AAC+ audio files(with ID3 tags), and JPG, BMP, GIF, TIF and PNG images. Whew.

The device has a 4.3-inch WQVGA TFT LCD with a 16:9 aspect ratio, a USB 2.0 port, a microphone and a speaker. It can record video (AVI format, VGA resolution) and audio/voice (MP3). E-book reader and composite AV-in and -out (PAL or SECAM) capability are included, and the internal 1.8-inch HDD has a capacity of 30GB. Dimensions are 79×168.9×17mm and weight is 265g.

Editor’s Note: Suppose they could’ve removed the Maxian label if they wanted to sell this as an OEM. This looks like the Maxian M800, which you could buy now retail.
