China PMP Isn’t Quite Portable (Unless you Have Large Pockets)
29 01 2008
Stretching the definition of portability, the MP-50 from Hong Chung International comes with a 5-inch TFT LCD with a resolution of 320×234 pixels and a 4:3 aspect ratio. That doesn’t sound too bad, until you realize that the device comes connected to a large base that, while enhancing viewing stability, is somehow less than pocket-friendly. MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DAT, AVI, MP3, WMA, JPEG and M-JPEG formats are supported.
The MP-50 comes with slots for CF I and II, SD, xD, MS and MMC cards, and two 2W speakers. AV-in and -out capability are included. Dimensions are a hefty (surprised?)160×110x42mm, and weight is a workout-worthy 480g.
