The Street is reporting that headphones are getting damaged due to iPod Classic firmware update 1.1. Small electrical pulses from iPod Classic make their way to the headphones that are plugged into the jack when the iPod is turned off. The electrical pulses have been measured up to 500mv of DC. Meanwhile some users are hearing minor hissing, buzzing or static after upgrading to version 1.1.
Apple has yet to respond to the problem.
