C-002 HiPhone is 99% iPhone
6 02 2008If you ask online retailer Dragonkicks, the HiPhone C-002 or C-002 HiPhone mimics the iPhone in more than just the looks externally and internally. Not only has this iPhone clone come to being closest copy of the Apple Phone, it is almost just as popular to consumers. And like many imitators of the iPhone, it beats the original in some areas. The C-002 holds two SIM cards at the same time, supports MMS and the built-in camera has video capture capability. Even so, I find the $239 price a little off-putting. I’m not sure why.
Full specs of the C-002 HiPhone (HiPhone C-002) after the break, plus the video.

Will I need a sim to use this as a web browser / mp3 player?

wow, look at how slow it is, yuk.
it’s not wifi, it’s wap and will require a sim and will more than likely feel very cheap!
noooooo thank you.

I watched the vid, and looked over the features. Nice, but watching this thing in action was painful. I own an iPhone and love it- even with it’s short-comings, it’s still the best phone/media device I have ever owned.
The good points of this phone:
1) stereo speakers/ 3d sound
2) REMOVABLE BATTERY!!!!!!!
3) Video and call recording!
That’s it. Three very important features that are on all iPhone owners list of things the iPhone needs. Hopefully Apple takes note (probably not, they seem very insistant about telling us what we want/need and not asking us)Everything else on this “HiPhone” fails short of the bar set by the iPhone.

i see… i got the D800i today… the D800i icons look like the iphone’s the c-002’s do not…. so c-002 is not 99%…

HiPhone sounds friendlier than iPhone.
HiPhone has a friendlier price too.
frankie replied on Feb 21st, 2008 at 8:06 pm
i did some research and the icons on the d800i are really like the iphone’s… the c-002 iphones are not… also, only the D800i is tri-band which means it is for the USA… the other iClones are mostly all dual band so be careful when you buy from other sites… That being said, the D800i is tri-band but if you are with ATT, some places in the U.S. are 850mhz meaning it is not supported…. i got mine today and it works great.. i got mine from here… http://www.gadgetgreats.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=781&HS=1

Im thinking about buying the Hiphone, and I have Suncom wireless, which runs off 850/1800/1900 gsm. Ive seen some that are quad band 850/900/1800/1900 gsm. But I havent seen anyone with the configuration for the MMS messaging and the internet to work. Does anyone know anything about this?

Hi, I bought an HiPhone, the phone is grand unfortunately you do not get an instruction book with it so it makes the phone almost usless. I have E-Mailed Specialphones the people that I bought it from to see if a book is available, we will have to see. It is a pity as the phone has a lot of uses if only you new how to use them.bobsmth

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!!!!!!
So my wife buys the HiPhone I32 and it is a bit thicker than iphone and not quite as sturdy.
2nd, we beat our heads trying to figure out why the music wouldnt transfer. well her titles had special characters in them (- and _ ) so we hand removed each hyphen or underscore and that worked. (huge oversite by hiphone IMO)
3rd, no wifi or internet connectivity what so ever. it has the icons and set up menus but we were unsuccessful going through our service provider, etc etc. nothing worked. trust me we baffled the people who posted “fixes” and such.
and the list goes on and on…
my final critique is that this phone is cool for basic phone capabilities, but no where near the caliber of the iphone…
I know this because i just got back from the Apple store and bought her an iPhone. Leaps and Bounds better than HiPhone!!!! and it took 4 minutes to unlock and is up to date and working (calls, wifi, sms, etc.) oh and thats on TMobile

@ LeRoi,
yes the two phones are different models. The i32 and c-002 are the same and are totally buggy.. the D800i is the most reliable model; it’s icons most resemble the iphones,,, also it has a sturdy stainless steel back… the D800i is the better of the iClones…
leroi replied on Mar 24th, 2008 at 2:50 am
sorry,,, i meant @ “BURNED”
Placebo replied on Mar 25th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
I concur. The i32, which I had is COMPLETELY BUGGY. There are rumors all over the place that there is already an updated firmware, and even another one to be released. So how can you tell what version you’re buying - YOU can’t. Rely on a seller which version you’re buying?!??
Half the features don’t even work. MMS doesn’t work half the time. Internet doesn’t work with Tmobile. SIM card button on screen doesn’t work. Speaker phone doesn’t work, plus a bunch of other things.
I was lucky and got rid of mine to someone who didn’t care. Just wanted an iPhone look alike, which it is VERY much so, but only if you want to use a phone. Don’t get it otherwise!
