Now that the writers’ strike is almost over, you might want to take a look at what Sony’s got in the standalone portable TV department. In short, Bravia TV has become pocketable. Bravia promises the “Best Resolution Audio Visual Integrated Architecture” and we hope the WQVGA ont eh D500’s 3-inch screen is exactly that. This is a one-seg (1-SEG) portable TV, of course, plus AM/ FM radio. The battery is pretty good as you can listen to radio for 27 hours and watch TV for 8 hours. You will have 2GB of internal memory to work with but I do not see where you’ll use this storage as they do not mention recording (whether audio or TV) anywhere.

The D200 is more of the same: 1-SEG, AM/ FM but the smaller 2-inch screen means this portable TV could fit nicely in your shirt pocket. No prices have been announced. The device actually takes a lot from old Walkman designs.
