The V81 is the newest addition in the Toshiba Gigabeat line and besides a memory upgrade, it pretty much has the same portable digital TV functions like the other Gigabeats. The V81 has 8GB of memory, which can fit about 40 hours of taped broadcasting (double than the V41), a 320 x 240-pixel 3.5-inch screen, and an SD card slot. Battery life is supposed to last ten hours when watching segment broadcasts, 13 hours for video playback, and 40 hours for movie playback. Unfortunately, TV broadcasts can only work in Japan, so you might as well just get another PMP that can do more. Supported file formats include WMA, WMV, WAV and MP3. The new Gigabeat will be out on February 15 at $330.
