GeoHot (George Hotz) is the name you will remember whenever someone mentions unlocking the iPhone. The iPhone Development Team and Elite made a good effort but came up with is a risky process that many have tried, many yet feared to try and quite a few ending with messy cold tears. The process is more straightforward, that’s why OTB or “Out of the Box” is emphasized here. The quick links: 1.1.2 OTB iPhone unlock is here and the RapidShare Mirror file where his 1.1.3 iPhone unlock is found is here. Or save this file from the I.H.o mirror. Full instructions after the break.

Note that in his blog he admits it only took him 24 hours to unlock the iPhone.

geohot’s 1.1.2 software unlock
yes, this is what you have all been waiting for
now fixed to support 1.1.3

1. First download: gunlock and the secpack from http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/ or the blog :)
the 4.02.13 fls from http://george.zjlotto.com/index.php/baseband/

2. Downgrade your phone to 1.0.2. Your baseband won’t be downgraded, this is normal.
Other versions may be OK but 1.0.2 doesn’t lose wifi on bb access.

3. Kill CommCenter and run “gunlock secpack ICE04.02.13_G.fls”

4. Reload CommCenter. For bricked iPhone, use the elite team bricktool to get out.

5. Your 1.1.2 iPhone is unlocked
