TV Phones Hit 20 Million in Japan
18 02 2008If you’ve ever been to Tokyo, you’ll know that cellphone TVs are big in Japan. It comes as no surprise to me that the Japanese just recently reached the 20 million milestone. Japan has reached the remarkable number after only two years of service. The last million handset was shipped during the month of December 2007. Japan’s 1-SEG network was launched April 1 2006 and delivers QVGA-quality broadcasts. OneSeg uses a 416kbps signal and are delivered for free with no DRM protection.
