For a simple and cheap touch screen PMP, obviously one doesn’t go to Apple The iPod Touch, like the iPhone, is a technological wonder, but alternatives for the touch screen craze abound and we are not just talking iPhone or iPod Touch clones. Technaxx has announced perhaps the most generic-looking touchscreen PMP yet. A plus for the TouchMe player is its rather tolerable design. It’s not groundbreaking but it’s not butt-ugly either.
TouchMe boasts a 2,8-inch (320×240 pixels) QVGA touchscreen, support for MPEG-4 (AVI), MP3, WMA, WAV, MP1 & MP2, JPG & BMP with e-Book and gaming functionality. It comes with a USB 2.0 port and microSD slot. It’s not remarkably thin but with a 37g weight, you can slip it in your shirt pocket and forget it’s there. No word on pricing yet.
