The Gemei M5, a media player that exclusively plays audio is top contender for the brickiest DAP ever - that is if it isn’t so tiny (go to the break for another look). Gemei is Chinese manufacturer not known for its sleek devices but it is capable of producing beauties - well, depending on your taste, of course. The M5, however, has very little excuse in existing in a world that has known the iPod Nano for three years (if it ain’t so darned tiny). Heck, even my old Sony Walkman that plays cassette tapes has better form factor than the M5. One thing it has going for it, I suppose, is the shiny metallic mirror where the screen is supposed to be. I guess the ladies could use the M5 to fix their makeup or something - if this thing isn’t so small. One saving grace is supposed to be the signal to noise ratio of the M5, which is at 95 dB, while most are only at 90 dB. Hm, and there’s an FM tuner too. The 2GB player will set you back 199 yuan ($28).
Dang if it isn’t cheap and really tiny, too. See for yourself after the break (around 2.4-inch really, really small and I’m not talking the screen, which this player is missing).
