Charbax just got the new firmware for GPS capability on his Archos 605. The GPS function on his Archos 605 demo is fully dependent on WiFi connectivity. The user interface on the navigation software is pretty good and if should be a pleasure to use with a GPS receiver in your car. It’s a real navigator, too, which you can use to plan your journey. For use with an In-Car Holder, the Archos 605 will be powered by a Sirf 3 GPS receiver

The Archos GPS is dependent on GPS signals not WiFi.. I am showing the interface here in Demo mode, cause I am not testing it in this video being in an actual car. When in the car, you connect the Archos to the In-Car Holder which also is alimented by the cigarette lighter of your car to provide power to the Sirf 3 GPS receiver that is in the In-Car Holder.

why cant archos give the g4 cust the same treatment as the g5 all it will take to make us happy is a flash upgrade why dont you ask archos to treat all their cust the same

why does archos continue to treat me like i dont exist could you please give us upgrades to the gen 5 we believed you when you first adverti advertized the gen 4 that you were a stand up company thwn you stiffed us and killed our product all we want is a flash upgrade why cant your engineers give us one can anyone tell me how to get a third party flash web browser

why cant archos do the right thing and upgrade the gen 4 wifi i would be willing to pay for the upgrade i like the size of my 7 inch wifi but without a flash upgrade it sucks please archos if you have any compassion for your customers do the right thing if anyone connected reads this comment please acknowledge us

why cant archos give the gen 4 customers an upgrade to thegen 5 with an os upgrade how hard is it for their so called software experts to make all their customers happy im not going to spend another 400.00 just to get the new model

why cant archos upgrade the 704 wifi i like the size of it it would be great if they upgraded it to the same features as the gen 5 705 wifi can any one tell me why they are ignoring us i am a customer too i have had mine for almost a year with no mention of any upgrades

why cant tony shutup? it is called business their lil buddy. try taking your generation old cell phone to a store and ask for a freakin battery… they will tell you that they dont carry it anymore. It happens so either be happy with what ya got or upgrade to the next generation.
