We like the M8000 the first time we saw it but now we really, really like it. It’s an all-around HD PMP with a 4-inch TFT screen, lot of multimedia support, a camera, TV Out, game emulation, PVR functionality, etc. It also comes with 80GB of hard disk space, which is all I really need in two lifetimes. But for people who are more voracious in their multimedia consumption, higher capacity versions of the M8000 are now being offered: 120GB, 160GB and 250GB! On this site, they are even offering customizable features, including the storage options, of course. It starts at $299.

[...] Newman is doing well as far as PMPs are concerned with the M8000 available with a 250GB hard drive. But if you can’t afford that much space, then you might wanna think about the 80GB, 120GB, and 160GB models. Other features include a 4″ TFT display at 320 x 240 resolution, TV out, support for MP3, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 formats, a 1.3 megapixel camera, SD memory card slot, game emulation, and PVR functionality. The M8000 starts at about $299 on up. [PMP Today] [...]

[...] Newman has never had much luck cranking out portable media players that were easy on the eyes, and unfortunately, things aren’t getting any better with the M8000. The bulky PMP features a 4-inch 320 x 240 resolution display, support for NES emulation and text viewing, a 1.3-megapixel camera, integrated speaker / microphone, video output, USB 2.0 connectivity and compatibility with a smattering of file formats. Unlike many craptacular rivals, this one comes in black or white and can be equipped with up to 250GB of internal hard drive space. Of course, it’s not like anyone with a shred of dignity is going to fork out $388 for the quarter-terabyte edition, but if you’ve got the coin to roll, you can certainly test the limits of buyer’s remorse.
