With all the talk about iPhone and iPod Touch, we at PMP Today have been wondering what it takes to be a real game changer in the portable media player industry. We couldn’t think of anything ourselves but after NVIDIA announced its second Tegra processor for mobile devices, we realized we have found that game changer. The Tegra 650 is the NVIDIA’s third for-mobile processor, following the announcement of the Tegra APX 2500 and the Tegra 600. We can’t go into detail about the differences between these processors but suffice it that these are very small in size and will enable smartphones and PMPs to support HD playback, sophisticated UI, high-speed gaming, HDMI transmission and so much more. Now that is what we call a game-changer.
