WWDC Keynote: 8GB 3G iPhone for $199
9 06 2008
A new iPhone will be sold by exclusive carriers around the world at $199 (or thereabouts in territories outside the U.S.) for the 8GB version. For the 16GB version you’ll have to pay $100 more. Disappointingly, the new iPhone is only slightly different from the original. It is not as wide as the old one but the back has been changed from metal to plastic. The only good news besides the obvious inclusion of 3G and SDK is that the 16GB will be available in white. The new iPhones will ship July 11th.
It looks like Sprint’s bet - the Samsung Instinct - may have a chance after all, though iPhone has GPS now and Assisted GPS. My opinion? Apple should’ve gone with the rumors and come out with a smaller iPhone.
Update: Oops… the 3G iPhone is also thicker. Apple engineers have failed us this time.

My opinion? This is the first Apple product ever I’ve been interested in buying, though I wish it would have had twice the resolution. I’d be more interested in a larger iPhone than a smaller one.

This is the product that i was waiting for.
Underground, this product is aquirable at 350$, the 8GB model.
I will surely get one.
Apple will sell this in billions if they offer it without a contract at a fair price..

Failed us? Oh no that extra millimetre of weight is going to kill me! Failed us apple, failed us! No they haven’t, they have given us a phone that is brilliant and competitive in price. I cant see what is wrong with it.
