Might be the big announcement among many announcements by AT&T today regarding the iPhone 3G: for $599 (8GB) and $699 (16GB), you cane get it without an AT&T contract. This bit of news alone will no doubt sell 10 million iPhones. The $199 and $299 versions will only be available for iPhone customers who bought an iPhone prior to 7/11, new AT&T customers and existing AT&T customers who are eligible for an upgrade. Individual plans start at $69.99 and the unlimited iPhone 3G plan will set you back $129.99. More info at Engadget.
Furthermore: additional dollars for texting, since text is not included in the Unlimited plans or any plan.
