Acer Aspire One is Cheapest Subnotebook in Philippines

acer-aspire-one-philippines.jpg

CNET writer Jerry Liao has it on good authority that the Aspire One netbook from Acer will be priced lower than the original Asus Eee PC in the Philippines. The Aspire One, which comes with a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor, will come with a bigger 8.9-inch screen and, according to reviews of the product, has a better keyboard and track pad setup for users. For example, the keyboard is 95% the size of a regular keyboard. That’s the Eee PC killer right there.

The Aspire One will also come in Sapphire blue, Seashell white, Golden brown and Coral pink upon its first release, which is better than the white-only option Asus gave the public when Eee PC was first released. Also come with a 5-in-1 card slot, an extra port for an external monitor, three USB ports and an Ethernet port. Jerry also tested the Linupus Lite OS and liked it but its the glossy finish that really impressed the reviewer. Heck, the stock photos impressed me too.

Aspire Ones have already arrived for the country and will be available in stores within a week.

That’s good to hear, but it’ll probably be cheaper when released elsewhere. Name brand tech gadgets are on average 50-150 USD more expensive in the Philippines.

The same goes for tools, Equiptment and appliances. The Philippine Government collects taxes this way, basicly from the people that can afford the taxes. If you can afford a car or computer then you can afford the taxes. It should be that way in the U. S. as well but it is not We have an income tax as well even many states have an income tax as well. Imports and luxuries should be taxed, it takes much of the burdon from the people that work for a living and just getting by eeking out a life making all of those that can afford these wonderfull items.
