Hello. The iPhone 3G and iPhone 2.0 software is nigh. Some countries have made unlocked iPhones available and with SDK that comes with the new iPhone 2.0 software, third-party applications are finally available, with a fee of course, through the App Store. Still, there are those who believe an iPhone 3G or iPhone 2.0 jailbreak is still very much relevant - we know this because many of you have been Googling for an iPhone 3G jailbreak and finding your way here to PMP Today. Take our poll and feel free to leave a comment in the comments area below in case you want to elaborate on your answer.

Yes… I’m waiting to buy one. I’ve already had cingular forever and my contract just finished up. There are so many dead zones here, but the iphone will keep me on this contract. Android waited too long to release theirs so I think the iphone nabbed a lot of their customers.

The iphone is closest to open source as we get right now and since it has an SDK out some possibilities are endless. Just waiting on Dev team to release their way of doing it.

I just want to be contract free… Pay as you go or Pick your plan. I can’t stand the claustrophobia caused from a 2 year contract!

3 reason why jailbreak is REQUIRED!

    1. the SDK is very limited (i.e. no background processes and only polling data from apple’s servers)

    2. there are some apps that apple just won’t approve (i.e. terminal, emulators, etc.)

    3. i own it i root it. who wants apple doing things from cupertino that i can’t do from in front of the phone?
