The Q18 is the new kid on the block while this is face-off number 2 for the E100 (see face-off number one). The RAmos’s MUMU iShine Q18 PMP is undeniably a lookalike of the iRiver E100. Both are cute boxy players, the E100 perhaps having the more interesting dial pad up against the iShine’s Chocolatey touch-sensitive keys. Both have 2.4 inches of viewing real estate with the E100 maxing at 4GB of storage on top of the Q18’s 2GB. The bigger difference, besides the price (E100 is twice as pricey as the $58 iShine Q18, is in both players’ media file support.

E100 - MPEG-4, WMV9 and XVID (30fps) and FLAC, MP3, WMA (DRM and non-DRM), ASF and OGG

iShine Q18 - MP4, RMVB, MP3, WMA

As you can see, we don’t even know if the Q18 can play video at 30fps and the listed MP4 support seem iffy at best. This is too sad since the Q18 UI seem workable enough somehow RAmos has managed to put in support for landscape viewing. Maybe another look at the two players together would help one pick a side…
