It’s not everyday we post a photo of a sketch of a Chinese gadget here at PMP Today, which makes Teclast’s latest PMP that much more interesting. From what I can gather from the Mandarin lettering, the M31 has a completely seamless metal body but despite that, Teclast has managed to put in all the connectors like a USB port, 3.5 mm audio jack and several buttons. Teclast claims the display has a 178-degree viewing angle, which sounds remarkable. It has touch-sensitive buttons similar to its predecessor instead of a touch screen, though volume controls tempting you to touch them show up on landscape mode. It has TV Out and plays RMVB, RM, FLV, AVI, WMV, DAT.I have a feeling the M31 is going to be at least as popular as the M26.

This looks like more of the same for Teclast (or for their OEM I should say). There really won’t be anything that exciting coming out new until the chipset manufacturers come out with something new (Ingenic and Rockchip for example). I really do have to commend Teclast’s OEM for spending time developing thier OS/Firmware well beyond the Rockchip 2706 reference design!
