If there is room enough in the MP3 player market for another player, a company like Dell would be a shoe-in. Dell may have been out of the MP3 player business for some time (they haven’t been in it too long) but that doesn’t mean they have lost interest. In fact, if the Wall Street Journal’s info is correct, the Dell MP3 player will have WiFi and Internet radio integration, priced at a very attractive -$100. This under-$100 MP3 player may also be a touch screen. Now, I’m wondering if Dell can reasonably sneak in video codec support in this -$100 PMP? Now that would really be something.

Todd, this is an old Dell Mp3 from many years ago. I just used the photo crunchger used. The new model should be a lot better looking.

Yeah, I still have one of those down in some old box, haven´t used it for quite some time. That was the worst MP3 player in terms of usability and performance I have ever had or even seen, and it was the main reason why I finally bought an ipod.
Even with huge errors in the firmware (for example, album tracks wouldn’t play in the right order unless you created a playlist for every album, continuous synch problems etc.), those problems never got fixed.
Dell — that is not what I would call support. They sure have lost ME as a customer. And I´m just looking for one of those babies (portable WLAN clients to carry around at home listening to music from my UPnP-enabled NAS wherever I want to), but not from this company.
