It’s the right time for Nintendo to begin hyping their DS 2. Still unannounced, the DS 2, according to Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter, makes sense for Nintendo while the Sony PSP’s number one console status is still fresh. Pachter said that DS sales in Japan will continue declining and thinks that “We think that Nintendo has a new handheld device ready for launch in [Japan] before the end of the calendar year.” Well, it’s not as if Nintendo cannot pull a DS successor out of thin air if it thinks its needed.

I not sure if we will see it you know. The PSP is beating the DS on weekly basis by about 10k-20k but the DS has sold 13million more units. Honestly I don’t think Nintendo Japan are too worried right now.
