The touchscreen RAmos iMovie is dirt cheap with the 32GB version retailing for only 1499 yuan (have a closer look at the RAmos iMovie), which converts to about $219. This is a 10mm-thin PMP with a 4.3-inch WQVGA screen, a robust UI and supporting RMVB, AVI, FLV, WMV, MPG, MP4, DAT, 3GP as well as audio, photo and text files and also TV out and micro speakers. The 16GB and 8GB versions will set you back 999 yuan dna 699 yuan respectively.

I’ve been impressed with the RAmos line from what I’ve seen on pmptoday–so much so that I would like to examine their products in more detail. Am I missing a link to their website here? If not, can anyone provide this link?

RAmos site is in Chinese and specs are in graphics so we don’t bother. You can wait when an online retailer decides to sell it, then the complete specs will be available, usually with a demo video.

[...] August 7, 2008 · Print This Article We’re always on the prowl for the latest iClone, and this RAmos iMovie is looking like an…interesting…replacement for the iPod touch. Featuring a slim 10mm aluminum-magnesium frame, the T8 doesn’t seem to have multitouch, but it will play back RMVB, AVI, FLV, WMV, MPG, MP4, DAT, and 3GP on its 4.3″ WQVGA (480×272) display (or through built-in TV-out). And with the 32GB version costing just $219, you know you’re tempted to find out how well this thing would actually work. [Zol via PMPToday] [...]

[...] RAmos’s T8 PMP (iMovie) features 4.3-inch 480 × 272 touchscreen to play almost any video format out there specifically RMVB, AVI, FLV, WMV, MPG, MP4, DAT, and 3GP formats with TV-out and stereo speakers. It also has a built-in MP3 player and photo slide-show capability. The video play somehow works similar to Windows Media Player, the menu at the bottom disappears after you leave it alone. It also uses full-touch sliding Technology, and encased in a ultra-narrow metal frame. The Ramos iMovie is available in three models- the 32GB is about 1499 yuan ($219), the 16GB is 999 yuan ($145), and the 8GB runs for 699 yuan ($102). This could probably be the best chinese MP4 out there. [PMPtoday] [...]
