The new Fujitsu LifeBook U2010 UMPC is finally official. At least as far as the Asia-Pacific region is concerned. The tablet-convertible mini-laptop features a 5.6-inch touch screen that boasts of a WXGA 1280×800 resolution, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor and your choice of a 60GB HDD or 64GB SSD. Other notable specs include a 1.3-megapixel camera, FM transmitter, fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It also comes preinstalled with Microsoft’s Origami 2.0 interface and promises a maximum of 8 hrs of battery life.
We’re not quite ready to dub this as a netbook especially if price is a criterion. The U2010 is already being sold by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to students and staff for roughly $932 and $1383 for others. Fujistus, however, has not released an official SRP yet.
