Dell’s little lappie is finally being released next week after missing its supposed August debut. The Inspiron Mini will tout an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB SSD and a built-in 0.3-megapixel camera. Connectivity is provided by the integrated Wi-FI (b/g), Bluetooth, WiMAX and WWAN support. You can also have your choice of Windows XP or Linux OS. Two variants of different sizes will be made available: one with an 8.9-inch display, and another with a bigger 12.1-inch screen. Price starts at $299.
Design-wise, it looks very appealing, but a bit disappointing is its mediocre 512MB RAM. However, they do include future-bound technologies such as WiMAX though I highly doubt how that will impact sales as there is no immediate need for it. Anyway, it’s always nice to have a new alternative in the ultra-portable netbook market.

Alright! It’s about time! I’ll be selling my PSP to get this! With it’s small size and extreme portability, this will be great for managing my website!
