Taking a different route, Raon Digital is releasing the first ever AMD-powered netbook dubbed as the Everun Note. Providing consumers with another option to the more popular Intel Atom processor, the Everun Note will have a 1.2GHZ Dual Core AMD Turion 64 running at the helm accompanied by 1GB of RAM. It’ll also showcase a brilliant 7-inch display with a maximum resolution of 1024×600, an ATI graphics card, Wi-FI, Bluetooth, SD/MMC card reader, and an integrated 1.3-megapixel camera. Storage options will come in either 80GB HHD or 12GB SSD. Windows XP will be its bundled OS, and the approximate battery life is a measly 2.5 hours only.
More details and pics after the break.

What’s interesting to note is due to its very compact size, it doesn’t come with a traditional trackpad. In place of it is what seems like a small joystick similar to the TrackPoint popularized by the ThinkPad series of IBM/Lenovo. It’s something different and just goes to show how the Everun Note is really trying to step out of the shadow of the Eee though I don’t know how consumers will accept the radical change in design.
It’s expected to be released in September. Its price, however, is yet to be determined.

“A radical change in design”, Are you kidding? I already order mine, because of the design. Finally, someone got it RIGHT. When you make a laptop that SMALL — ditch the track pad, DUH. A track pad takes up room.
This is exactly how I always wanted my micro laptop to look like, basically a giant Nintendo DS, that is a computer. Perfect.
