Dell is getting close to announcing its iPod rival and it’s not going to be one but two models with a new iTunes-rivaling software on board. One will be for under $100 and is WiFi enabled and the other may be a higher end MP3 player. Zing will be given the role of an iTunes competitor for the Dell MP3 players. The Zing app will enable customers to send songs they bought to friends with Dell MP3 players. The Zing app will not be limited to Dell MP3 players and will eventually be found on cellphones and laptops. One of the services it will provide is content streaming. The entire project at Dell is being spearheaded by former Apple exec Tim Bucher who worked on the iPod line.
