ZTE just announced its plans to become the world’s fifth largest mobile manufacturer. Right now it is 6th and is China’s number one cellphone maker. ZTE has set a 2010 target of 100 million phones, which should be enough for no.5. Its main competitor is Huawei. ZTE has been rumored before as one of the interested entities for a buyout of Motorola’s handset division.
