I guess Sony Ericsson has finally decided to get the ball rolling as far as the release of their first Windows Mobile device is concerned. They’ve announced the first batch of countries who will get the XPERIA X1 on September 30, 2008, and the lucky one are the following:

APAC: Indonesia, Singapore, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam
Western Europe: Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Portugal
Central Europe: Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic
Middle East: UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait
Africa: South Africa
Latin America: Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia

Those countries not mentioned will have to wait for further announcements.

Well, it looks like it’s going to be one happy Christmas for loyal Sony Ericsson fans who have had the guts and patience to stick it out and wait for the XPERIA X1. That is if you belong to one of the countries listed above. Hopefully, the rest of the world will likewise get theirs before the year ends. Just keep your fingers crossed.
