Review of iRiver SPINN From iPod Hater

iRiver

We love AnythingbutiPod though we are not totally sold to their sensibility. The the iRiver SPINN for example. A 4GB iRiver Spinn would set you back $250 or $50 more than an iPod Nano 4G with a 16GB capacity. Sure, the iRiver SPINN has more features than the Nano but a higher capacity iPod Touch (8GB), which definitely has more features than the iRiver SPINN. AnythingbutiPod admits the price is inhibitive but also goes on to say that the SPINN brings back iRiver to the competitive PMP game. They reason that with this price, one can only expect the best parts in your PMP. Surprisingly, sound quality is not that good although the touchscreen has Haptics, which should enjoyable.

I think you’re misunderstanding what anythingbutipod is about. Not using ipods is not the same as hating them. If there were two brands on the market, having a site dedicated to one wouldnt be the same as having a site dedicated to hating the other. The DAP market is pretty much divided into ipod users and non-ipod users, and since there are more than enough sites dedicated to the ipods ABi is a site for anything else - brands that don’t have enough users to warrant a dedicated site for each one. “Anythingbutipod” is simply a way of accurately describing what the site is about compared to calling it http://www.sonysamsungsandiskirivercowoncreativempiomobiblu (…) phillipsmeizuarchos.com. if you notice the news, reviews and features on the site there are no posts dedicated to bashing the ipod, there simply aren’t any ipod posts.
