Nokia, Kodak agreement point to New Megapixel Phone in the works

Sun, Oct 26, 2008

Industry News, Mobile Phone

We’ve seen both LG and Samsung come out with massive 8-megapixel camera phones that feature an impressive array of imaging enhancements, but mobile phone giant Nokia has yet to break the 5-megapixel barrier. In the hopes to probably catch up with the rest of the competition, Nokia and Kodak has signed into a patent license agreement allowing each company access to each other’s intellectual. While both parties stannd to benefit from the new found understanding, royalty bearing will go to Kodak. Base on this latest development, we can only assume that this new partnership will lead to a more impressive camera phone from Nokia that can rival it out with the new big guns in the market today. When it will come out is anybody’s guess, but we’re hoping that it won’t be prolonged to later than the first half of 2009.
