New Products

Mintpass, a subsidiary of Reigncom, which also owns iRiver, has a good idea for all of us. Instead of buying a pocket PC or a smartphone, why don’t we invest our hard-earned cash on something just as good.. a Mintpad. For only $156, you get a device that stores notes on a 2.86-inch touchscreen via handwriting recognition software and a stylus plus additional support for AVI, MPEG1/2/4, WMV7/8/9, MP4, MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV, APE, FLAC and JPG, BMP PNG. It runs of Windows CE and is powered by ARM9 400MHz processor and 128MB of RAM and will have 4GB of storage expandable via SDHC cards. It’s a Korea-only device for now but something tells me that though the Mintpad matches many if iPhone’s function, a comparison will not be made in the West.
