iPhone takes no. 2, RIM slips to no. 3

If you still don’t think that the iPhone is popular enough, its recent climb in the standings of the global smartphone sales in the 3rd quarter of this year might change your mind. Apple has managed to snag the no. 2 spot with 17.3% market share overtaking RIM with 15.2%. Nokia is still at no. 1 despite with 38.9% losing 12.5% as compared to the same period last year. I guess business is doing great for Apple, but I wouldn’t rest on the iPhone’s laurels just yet. RIM hasn’t released their new touchscreen Storm and we’ve got a whole quarter to account for before the year comes to a close. Will Apple be able to maintain their no. 2 standing for Q4? It’s all up to you guys now.
