Samsung beats Motorola in US phone market

Sat, Nov 8, 2008

Industry News, Mobile Phone

Thanks to their determination and host of multimedia handset phones, Samsung has managed to knock Motorola off from the top spot in the US mobile phone market. The Korean mobile phone manufacturer now has 22.4% market share while Motorola is down to just 21.1%. Amazingly, even Nokia managed to boost their sales in the US. They now have 8.4% market share. I guess Motorola has their work cut out for them in 2009 if they wish to really be considered a serious threat as far as the mobile phone industry in the US is concerned. For now, Samsung can bask in their new found glory and with the Omnia headed for the US, they can even further solidify their number 1 standing.
