It’s finally confirmed. Windows Mobile 7 won’t exactly be the next mobile OS coming from Microsoft, but it’ll eventually come right after Windows Mobile 6.5 is done basking in the spotlight. Windows Mobile 6.5 is expected to be available next year, but as to its specific release date, that is anybody’s guess at the moment. Don’t ask about what it’ll feature as well since they hardly discussed the particulars of this up and coming Windows Mobile update. The only thing we’re assured of at the moment is that when 2009 is finally upon us, we can already start counting down the months for the release of Windows Mobile 6.5 whenever that will be. Hopefully, it will be a whole lot better than Windows Mobile 6.1 because quite frankly, Microsoft is being burned by Apple and Google with their respective mobile OS systems.
